Baptism

Baptism at International Christian Fellowship Church Denmark

At International Christian Fellowship Church Denmark (ICFC Denmark), baptism is one of the most joyful and significant moments in our yearly calendar. It is a public declaration of faith and a powerful symbol of new life in Christ. Every year, we hold a special baptism service to celebrate those who have decided to follow Jesus and commit their lives to Him.

Meaning of baptism: Baptism represents a believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is an outward expression of an inward transformation—a testimony that the old life has passed away and a new life has begun through faith in Christ. As the Apostle Paul writes, “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:4)

Annual Baptism Service :Our baptism service takes place once every year, usually during the summer season when members, families, and friends can gather outdoors in celebration. The exact date is announced well in advance during Sunday services and through the church communication channels. The baptism day is a vibrant time of worship, testimony, and fellowship. Each candidate shares their journey of faith, followed by a message from the pastor about the meaning of baptism and commitment to Christ. Afterward, the baptism takes place—either in a nearby body of water or a baptismal pool—while the congregation worships and rejoices together.

Preparation for Baptism : Before the baptism service, all candidates participate in a baptismal class led by the pastor and church leaders. This class helps participants understand the biblical foundation of baptism, the responsibilities of a believer, and the importance of living a Spirit-filled life. It is also a time for prayer, reflection, and fellowship among those preparing to take this important step.

Who Can Be Baptized :Baptism at ICFC Denmark is open to all who have personally accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and desire to publicly declare their faith. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds who are ready to begin or renew their walk with Christ.

A Time of Celebration: After the baptism, the church family comes together for a thanksgiving service and fellowship meal, celebrating the new members of the body of Christ. It is a day filled with joy, music, and gratitude to God for the gift of salvation.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19
